On the ‘more-or-less stand alone’ part: basically we want to let people know who they’re sharing their information with. StudioForty9 has been involved in e-commerce for 5 years and this kind of investigation is something we’ve wanted to do (or someone else to do) with quite some time. We’re a legitimate Irish business based in Ireland, with contact details you can use, an office you can call into, and a good reason to try and launch a survey like this. On the other hand, surveying is not our primary business and we’re not doing it to simply promote StudioForty9 – which is why the project is “more-or-less stand alone” and you don’t see our name all over it.

Your second question is one of those “I’m glad you asked” questions – and is something we addressed in our most recent post. We will be publishing a report of our findings which will be made freely available. However we will not be freely publishing the raw data, but we will make it available upon request to people who have a valid reason for using it and who will make their findings / report available through our site.
